Trilateral pilot project to test the use of 3D stereo technologies in inclusive education

Since September 1, 2017 the "Regional Center for Autism" of Vasileostrovsky district of St. Petersburg (State budget educational institution school № 755) conducts experimental work using a Mobile integrated multimedia complex SVEGA®with 3D visualization (SVEGA ММК-3DM) in the education, upbringing and development of children with disabilities on the model of autism.

In addition to the stereoscopic complex, this Center was equipped by our company with all kinds of modern specialized information and communication equipment.

In March 2018, based on the large-scale application of various innovative technologies in inclusive education, including 3D-stereo visualization based on the scientific component and educational and methodological support, Co. Ltd. “SVEGA-Computer”, the UNESCO Institute for information technologies in education (UNESCO IITE) and "Regional Center for Autism" signed a partnership agreement within the framework of a trilateral pilot project to test the use of 3D stereo technologies in inclusive education, including the use of 3D solutions, assistive and interactive technologies.

The aim of the project:

The organization of piloting and adaptation of innovative technologies, including organization of the collection of successful experiences in the use and analysis of the impact of technology on the effectiveness of the training and education of students with disabilities, training of professionals, dissemination of best practices and results of a joint pilot project in the wider academic circle and in the circle of practitioners.

About the project:

1. Directions for 3D solutions:

  • Development of cognitive activity, correction of mental functions (memory, attention, thinking);
  • Development and correction of communication skills;
  • Development and correction of the emotional sphere;
  • Anxiety correction;
  • Behavior correction;
  • Formation and development of self-regulation skills;
  • Improving the efficiency of learning the educational program.
  • 2. What tasks the teacher aims:

  • Formation of the General culture providing versatile development of the personality of students with autism spectrum disorders, including combinations with intellectual insufficiency of various degree (moral and aesthetic, social and personal, intellectual, physical);
  • Protection and promotion of children's mental health;
  • Formation of the foundations of civil identity and worldview of students in accordance with accepted in the family and society spiritual, moral and socio-cultural values;
  • Formation of the basics of educational activities of students with autism spectrum disorders - (the ability to take, maintain goals and follow them in the process of solving educational problems, plan their activities, monitor its process, bring it to the end, adequately assess the results, interact with teachers and peers);
  • Creation of special conditions for education in accordance with age and individual characteristics and inclinations, development of abilities and creative potential of each student as a subject of relations in the field of education;
  • Providing variability and diversity of the content of adapted educational programs and organizational forms of education for students with autism spectrum disorders, taking into account their educational needs, abilities and health status, typological and individual characteristics;

    Autism spectrum disorders, mild to moderate mental retardation, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
